Treasury of Meanings

Part 1. What We Store in the Treasury of Meanings

Treasury of Meanings — living memory, stories and the meaning of experience

Chronicle

Treasury of Meanings is a sphere of short stories, parables, legends and paradoxes, in which everyday life unexpectedly reveals hidden meaning.

Not only great events come here, but also cases worthy of detailed chronicle, capable of changing a person’s view.
An ordinary conversation, a child’s answer, a chance meeting or a funny absurdity sometimes preserve more living truth than a long explanation.
Unlike the sphere Echo Archive, what is preserved here is not mistakes and risks, but living observations.
Of course, they are caught from the everyday flow of life.
Here the past, one way or another, is not frozen for analysis. At the same time, it continues moving inside the story, passing the found image or meaning further on.

Each chronicle preserves not only what once happened. At the same time, it preserves the turn of perception that was born together with the event.
Sometimes a few words, spoken at the right time, become a small flashlight. In essence, they illuminate what a person had not noticed before.
Therefore, stories in the Treasury of Meanings do not require one single correct interpretation.
The reader may see their own experience in one parable. Sometimes they may recognize a familiar situation or discover a meaning that had previously remained hidden.

Thus a separate case stops belonging only to its own time and to one person.
It becomes a living chronicle, capable of passing from hand to hand. At the same time, it preserves warmth, humor, observation and human truth.

Part 2. Parables

The Guru and the Girl with Milk

A girl used to bring milk to a guru. One day she did not come because the river had overflowed.
The guru said to her: “If only you had spoken my name, you would have crossed it easily.”
Next time she did just that and, despite the turbulent current, crossed the river.
She told the guru about it.
“Well now,” he thought.
To make sure, he decided to test it himself and nearly drowned.

The Roar That Woke the Lion Cub

A lioness and her cub lay peacefully on a rise.
The lion, of course, was nearby.
As usual, he was listening into the space.
And suddenly he roared. Apparently, his roar spread across the whole area.
Someone, barely hearing it, hid in a burrow; someone climbed into a hollow. But the lion cub opened his eyes.

The Beggar and the Treasure Chest

One beggar sat under a tree all his life and, as usual, begged for alms.
By the way, he had neither family nor friends.
And when he died, people decided to bury him right there, where he had been sitting.
But when they began to dig, they suddenly found a chest of treasure beneath him.

Measure — Then Beyond Measure

Some people borrowed two half-poods of grain from their neighbors.
When the time came to return it, they poured out roughly a sack.
At first glance, this was more than they had taken. The owners’ son said: “That will not do. Let us do it honestly: you borrowed by measure, so return by measure.”

Fools Do Not Doubt

One day a local young man asked a guru: “How should I speak with people so as not to seem foolish?”
The guru, in turn, answered: “Doubt.”
“Doubt what?” asked the young man. The guru smiled: “Everything, perhaps even the fact that you doubt.”

Part 3. True Treasures and the Final Chord

Treasures: Decency, Wholeness, Conscience

One must always keep in mind that when these treasures are in your hands, they are for you.
But when they are in someone else’s hands, accordingly, they are against you.

Inner Treasures, of course, are what cannot be bought, but can be lost.
Meanwhile, they can be preserved and used properly.

Decency as Inner Harmony

This is when everything is in tune, stands in order, in harmony and in agreement with the Center.
Protection Mode is when the world tries to impose its own “decency” as duty; you put the treasure into your pocket and do not allow yourself to be manipulated.
When you take it out for yourself, for your own space, decency becomes the Golden Measure, your radiance.

And when your decency is in someone else’s hands, it is like allowing others to use your clothes.

Wholeness — Absolute Harmony

In your Pocket, of course, this treasure is a mode of invulnerability.
You are whole. You cannot be pierced.
In someone else’s hands, your treasure turns against you.
They try to attach themselves to you or, even worse, tear off a piece through cunning agreements.

Conscience — Loyalty to the Source

In the Pocket, undoubtedly, this is protection from manipulation. You will not be knocked off your path.
In someone else’s hands, it is their access to your pure source.
